Q: Hello, I am an occupational therapist that works with a number of patients who have brain injuries requiring a prescription for lenses with prisms. Often, these patients are looking for affordable lenses, as they are working through significant loss in work capabilities and money spent with medical expenses. I see that you are able to create lenses with prisms, but I am wondering if you are able to create lenses with FL-41 or tinting that assists with visual sensitivity as well. Also, if patients might need anti-glare or blue light tint to them, is this an option? And lastly, if their script changes, can they use the same lens but change them out with the same frame they have already purchased? Thanks for your help!

We are writing to inform you of an important compatibility issue we discovered while preparing your order for production. Your prescription is extremely high, and the additional prism correction further increases lens edge thickness. Even with the premium 1.74 high-index lenses you selected (the thinnest option available), the lenses will be too thick for the clip-on sunglasses included with these frames, preventing it from fitting properly. To resolve this issue for the frames, we suggest exchanging it for two different frames fully compatible with high-prescription lenses. Please let us know your preference at your earliest convenience to avoid further delays. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us anytime. And we are sorry to tell you that we can not make your Rx with tinted lenses.

Every set of prescription lenses has an “optical center”, which should align with where you look through the lens. Pupillary distance is used to determine this and should be as accurate as possible. If you fill the incorrect PD , you will feel dizzy or fuzzy when you wear the glasses.
